Victron MultiPlus Inverter/ Chargers

  • The MultiPlus combines a powerful true sine wave inverter with a sophisticated battery charger. Its benefits are three-fold:

    • The charger allows you to charge your leisure batteries when hooked up to shore power at campsites

    • The inverter can be used as a standard inverter to run on-board AC/240V appliances (i.e. when off-grid)

    • The built-in high-speed AC transfer switch automatically switches between power supplies (e.g. shore, generator or inverter power) to run on-board AC appliances directly from mains power when available. The UPS function prevents interruption in power supply in the event of grid failure, or when shore or generator power is disconnected.

The MultiPlus can be remotely controlled and monitored using the VRM Portal, or using a GX device like the Cerbo GX and GX Touch display.

Victron MPPT Solar Charge Controllers

  • A solar charge controller regulates the current flowing from your solar panels to your leisure batteries, to avoid overcharging.

Smart or Blue? Victron refers to “Smart” units as those with Bluetooth connectivity, meaning you can view live and historic power data on your smart phone via the Victron Connect app. Victron refers to “Blue” units as those without Bluetooth - this works well if you opt for on-board displays that are hard-wired in such as the Cerbo GX module and GX Touch screen display.

How to work out the size? All MPPT units display two numbers. We sell the 75|15 and 100|30 models. For the 100|30 model the 100 = Max PV open circuit voltage, and 30 =max charge current. These two models are the most popular for campervans.

Victron DC-DC Chargers

  • DC-DC Chargers are perfect for vans, motorhomes and boats as they charge your batteries while you move. Placed between your vehicle’s starter battery (which is connected to the alternator) and the leisure batteries, they monitor the input voltage from the vehicle alternator and once a certain voltage range is detected, they will start drawing power to charge your leisure batteries. The built-in engine shutdown detection will stop the converter when the engine is not running, preventing unwanted discharge of your starter battery.

They are a premium alternative to split charge or voltage sensitive relay devices which do not work well with ‘smart’ alternators present in most Euro 5/6 engines.

Isolated or Non-Isolated? The main difference is the method of electrical isolation between the input and output circuits. Where you have a common ground connection (negative) between the two voltages, a non-isolated DC-DC charger is usually suitable. The non-isolated chargers are less-expensive, but if you require electrical isolation or protection against voltage spikes you will need the isolated charger. Please consult Victron or a qualified electrician if in any doubt about your requirements.

How to work out the size? The first two numbers (e.g. 12 and 12) refer to the starter battery voltage and the leisure battery voltage respectively. So, both these chargers are for a 12V starter battery and a 12V leisure battery. The third and final number refers to the maximum charge current which is 30 Amps - and indicates how quickly it will recharge your leisure battery. For even quicker charging you are wire two chargers into your system to gain an effective 60 Amps of charging current.

Victron Battery Monitors

  • Victron’s all-new communication centre, allowing you to monitor your whole system in one easy place. The Cerbo GX consolidates data collected from your leisure batteries (via a separate smart shunt), solar panels, and any other inputs, and displays it on the VRM Portal, the Victron Connect app, or the on-board GX Touch display screen (sold separately).

    Manual

  • This high precision battery monitor calculates and displays the Ah consumed, and state of charge of your leisure battery. The 500mV smart shunt monitors current flowing in or out of the battery. The small display screen provides quick and easy readouts, and it’s also viewable on the Victron Connect app.
